Award-winning leader of PA Family Support Alliance helps direct national efforts to protect children

Harrisburg, PA – The National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds (NACTPF) has appointed Angela M. Liddle, MPA, president and CEO of Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance (PFSA), to its board of directors. NACTPF initiates and engages in national efforts that help state Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds (CTF) strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Liddle has served as vice president of Pennsylvania’s CTF since 2011. PFSA is the state leader in child abuse prevention.

“The National Alliance is thrilled to have an opportunity to work with Angela Liddle as a member of our governing board,” said Teresa Rafael, NACTPF executive director. “Her work at PA Family Support Alliance has had a profoundly positive influence on strengthening families in PA and preventing child abuse, and has been noted by colleagues from many states over the past 25 years. PA’s Children’s Trust Fund has had strong leadership and made great strides in developing partnerships with parents and resources to prevent child abuse. Angela’s depth of knowledge and experience brings a win for Pennsylvania and The National Alliance — and most importantly, America’s children.”

The Children’s Trust Fund provides multi-year funding grants to agencies that offer evidence-based programs for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.  Surcharges on marriage and divorce decrees fund the program. Over its 30-year history, Pennsylvania’s CTF has awarded millions of dollars in funding to help families and children across the state.

At PFSA, Liddle championed and secured funding for one of the first and most comprehensive statewide training programs on child abuse recognition and reporting, and successfully advocated for legislation requiring training for school personnel and professionals who hold a certification or license in a health-related field under the PA Dept. of State. She has grown PFSA into a state leader in child protection and led the first and only PA-specific research on attitudes and perceptions of child abuse and neglect. Liddle also launched the award-winning PA Blue Ribbon Champions for Safe Kids movement to highlight the role each of us must play in protecting children.
