Bryn Mawr Resident Receives PA Blue Ribbon Champion for Safe Kids Award
Harrisburg, Pa. (April 1, 2026) – Pa Family Support Alliance (PFSA), Pennsylvania’s leading child abuse prevention organization, today honored Jane Kim, Esq., as a recipient of the PA Blue Ribbon Champion for Safe Kids Award. Presented in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, the award recognizes four individuals annually who go above and beyond to protect and support Pennsylvania’s children. Pictures, videos, interviews and short b-roll clips from today’s flag planting and award ceremony can be found here.
Kim is the Director of Client Engagement and Initiatives for Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County, bringing more than 16 years of experience across education, prosecution, civil advocacy, and nonprofit leadership.
She began her career as a public high school teacher in Delaware County before earning her law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law. Kim went on to serve in the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, where she focused on appellate matters, human trafficking, and community engagement. She later represented adult survivors of sexual assault in family law, immigration, and Protection from Abuse cases before transitioning to child advocacy work.
Driven by a commitment to protecting child victims, Kim served as a staff attorney at the Support Center for Child Advocates in Philadelphia, representing children in dependency hearings, criminal trials, and appellate proceedings. She later led the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center and co-chaired the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Children’s Rights Committee. Skilled in trauma-informed practice and multidisciplinary collaboration, Kim is deeply committed to improving outcomes for children and families.
“Jane brings a unique blend of classroom experience, prosecutorial insight, and child advocacy leadership to her work,” said Angela Liddle, PFSA President and CEO. “Her commitment to trauma-informed, multidisciplinary care ensures that children and families are not only supported through the justice process but empowered on their path toward healing. Jane embodies what it means to be a relentless advocate for children, and we are proud to recognize her as a Blue Ribbon Champion.”
In honor of this accomplishment, PFSA and Laval Miller-Wilson, Deputy Secretary, Office of Children, Youth & Families for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services recognized Kim in front of a packed audience of lawmakers, members of the media, child advocates, and students in the Capitol Rotunda.
PFSA was joined by Deputy Secretary Miller-Wilson, Chief Deputy Attorney General Angela Sperrazza, and local and state elected officials during today’s ceremony, which kicks off National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Each year, PFSA, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, hosts activities and events throughout the Commonwealth to increase awareness about the need for individuals to learn about the warning signs of abuse and neglect.
Data from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services’ most recent Annual Child Protective Services Report shows there were 4,756 confirmed cases of child abuse statewide, including 60 fatalities and 82 near-fatalities.
